Inspiration for these tables arose from the shocking 95% reduction in kelp forests from Tasmania’s east coast, since the 1970’s. Kelp Table acknowledges that loss and appeals for increasing awareness and a sustainable future. I wanted to celebrate the rich beauty and inherent value in both earthbound and marine plant forms – a concern for and appreciation of, conserving two diverse and incredibly important types of forests.
